Balmashana Kennels derived its name from a Memorial Monument
overlooking the township of Forfar, county of Angus, Scotland.
It was here 35 years ago that Lynda & Archie Marquis first bought a Toy Poodle.
When relocating to Australia they registered their kennels with the Victorian
Canine Association and proceeded to show their "Silvers" as
owner-breeder-groomers-handlers.
Since those early days the kennel has gradually moved to show and produce mainly
Black and Brown Toy Poodles derived from their own successful breeding programs
and through the use of internationally renowned stock.
This small family owned Kennel owes much of its success to rearing its puppies
in a home environment where individual care and attention can be lavished on
each puppy. This in part is due to a restricted breeding program driven only by
the need for the next generation of show puppies as required for personal use.
Occasionally a puppy becomes available for show and pet homes and this has seen
a number of owners also join the showing fraternity throughout Australia.
The modern kennels of today owes its start to the Toy Poodle Pako Dark N
Delicious from the famous kennels of Faye Burridge of Sydney Australia.
